1) For All of your interviews, please write short summaries and use the following form:

Present Date

Interviewee: Name, Birth Date, Where Born, Occupation, and Position or Main Reason for Interview (for example, NCOD Director from 1980 to 1985 or Vietnam Veteran, in country 1969 to 1970 etc.)

Date, Place, Time, and Length of Interview: XXXXX

Keywords that best identify your interview: Vietnam, Military, Training, etc.

Paragraph of Introduction to Person Interviewed: Briefly sum up the background and significance of the person interviews

Interview Segments: Divide your interview up into segments, for example:

1. Background Information

2. Discussion of Iraq

3. Discussion of Vietnam Experience, training

4. Discussion of Vietnam Experience, First Night In Country

5. Difficulties . . . etc.

Paragraph Summary of Overall Interview Significance: Sum up the overall interview, what are the overall strengths?

These summaries and transcriptions are due by 23 November.

2) Choose your BEST interview, summarized above, to transcribe into written form. You do not need to transcribe the ENTIRE interview; transcribe THREE pages of the interview. The purpose of this is to illustrate the challenging nature of transcribing verbal expression into written form.
